The black and amber always looked in control here with Dungarvan providing formidable opposition but the blues seem to concede goals just at the wrong time allowing Lismore to tighten their grip on this particular clash. Ray Barry struck for 3-02 from his now customary corner forward position while substitute Oisín O' Gorman goaled two and Jack Prendergast provided the sixth from a close range touch to the net. Lismore did not have it all their own way with Dungarvan cutting the margin to one point at one particular stage when they seemed to break through the Lismore defence on a number of occasions converting four goals of their own. This will indeed be a cause of concern for the Lismore rear guard as they enter into the quarter final stage of the championship. Maurice Shanahan was again in fine free-taking form converting nine and one from play. Lismore will be happy with this performance overall as Dungarvan kept looking for a way forward but were ultimately dispatched with goals at crucial stages of the match. These scores were also coming from a team that have proven themselves not to be over reliant on a single player. Final score: Lismore 6-18 Dungarvan 4-19. We will now meet Abbeyside on Saturday 15th August in Fraher Field at 6.15pm. Junior Hurling Lismore junior hurlers ended their hurling campaign with a victory over a fancied Fourmilewater side last Friday evening. Knowing a badly needed win was the only outcome here, Lismore started the brighter with points from Daniel O' Keeffe and Paddy Foley. It was a nip-tuck affair with Fourmilewater always threatening for goals but the Lismore defence played one of their better games especially Fionn O' Gorman who kept a clean sheet for the second week in a row. Unfortunately we bow out at this stage of the competition on point difference with Fourmilewater and Tallow going through from Group 1. Final score: Lismore 2-15 Fourmilewater 0-14. Team: Fionn O' Gorman, Pearse O Rourke, Emmet Quann, David Smith, Ryan O' Keeffe, Jordan Murphy, Cathal Fitzgerald, Joe Lenihan (Capt), Daniel O' Keeffe, Paudie Coleman, Eric O' Sullivan, Paddy Foley, Ben Shanahan Quinn, Gary O' Connnor, Ronan Kelleher. Subs: Des Twomey for Ronan Kelleher, Darragh Foley for Ben Shanahan Quinn. Minor Hurling Our minor hurlers bowed out of the Minor Div 2C hurling championship with a defeat at the hands of Cois Bride last Sunday morning. We would like to thank the mentors for their time and effort in training the lads and hopefully we can build on what is essentially a very good foundation with some promising players coming to the fore.
