Charleville was the venue,Oranmore/Maree were the opposition for last years Intermediate Camogie All-Ireland Champions Lismore.Lismore started very well with the first score of the game and took the game by the scruff of the neck after 10 minutes when Catriona McGlone hit the back of the Galway sides net and Lismre led by 1-3 to 0-2 both sides then began to exchange points with Lismore leading at halftime on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-6,1-7 of which came from play compared to the opposition who scored all their points from frees.
The second half tells a different story as within 2 minutes Lismore were reduced to 14 and this really tested the grit of Lismore as Oranmore began to claw thier way back into the game and with 15 minutes gone in the half just three points separated the teams,Lismore then put over a couple of points and led 1-13 to 0-11 with 5 minutes plus added time then Oranmore struck with a goal and then a point which put just one point between the teams with 5 mins left,Lismore then had a free 45 yards out to put two points between them and with great heart and determination Lismore held on to win on a scoreline of Lismore 1-14 Oranmore/Maree 1-12.So the chance of back to back All-Irelands goes on,well done to all involved.LISMORE ABU |
