The GAA and LGFA have paused all club fixtures "with immediate effect and until further notice", as huge uncertainty surrounds the 2020 inter-county championships in light of NPHET's latest recommendations. GAA president John Horan said the association felt it had no choice but to pause all club fixtures after problematic post-match scenes were highlighted. Bars and social clubs are also to close but "training will continue to be permitted as per the guidelines outlined for the relevant levels in the Government's National Framework for Living with Covid-19". Increasing transmission rates of Covid-19 are in almost every part of the country and worryingly seem no sign of abating. The restrictions will be reviewed in three weeks time and unless there is a significant drop in trends, the country will be facing into Level 4 and Level 5. We ask all club members to do their part in suppressing this virus and adhere to the restrictions going forward. Training will continue and further information can be sought from your Covid Officer.
