Lismore GAA Juvenile Notes. U10 Hurling -. On Sat last our u10s travelled to st Marys in Clonmel to take part in their annual Frank Maher hurling tournament. In the group stages our lads drew with Cahir in the first game and beat Clonea Power and St Marys in the second and third games. Our lads had a high scoring average and this qualified them for the semi final of div A. In the semi final they took on Fermoy and after a titanic battle came out on top by two points to earn a place in the final. In the final they met Clarinbridge of Galway and this turned out to be another cracker but in the end our boys were beaten by the boys from the West by three points. Like Sunday in Croke Park with a small bit of luck we could have came out on top but fair play to all involved to get to the final of this high class tournament. Many thanks to St Marys for invite. U11 Hurling - Our u11s played The Brickeys away last week in the town and country league and were narrowly beaten. U13 hurling – The boys played St Pats in the championship semi-final in Cappoquinn last week. It was an exciting game and both teams played some good hurling. We were delighted to win this game and are looking to the Final. U14 Hurling – The buys played Tallow last week in a tough game which didn’t go our way. U16 Hurling – The boys played Dungarvan last week and in an impressive display we racked up a good score to win. Pat Mantayne : The Club will host this U12 Hurling Tournament on Saturday Sept 9th. Throw in is at 10am and for anyone with an interest in Youth hurling, this is an opportunity to see some good entertaining matches. Speedy recovery to Tomas Nugent and Shane Barry who both picked up an injury last week. Hard luck to the Waterford team especially Dan, Maurice, Shane, Kieran and Stephen in Sundays All Ireland. Looking forward to next year. Lismore GAA Juvenile Notes U10 Football – The U10s played Fermoy at home in a challenge game last Tuesday night, this was a great game of hurling and very beneficial to both sides. Many thanks to Fermoy for travelling down. u11 Football – The u11s played Affane in the town and country football league at home last Thursday night and had a nice win. U14 Hurling – These lads played two games this week. The first against Clonea produced some of the best hurling from these lads so far this year, and although they kept hurling up till the end they just came up short on the night. The Second match was against Clan Na Geal, this was a physical, strong team but the lads continued to hurl well and were deserving winners on the night. U16s Hurling . The U16s played Sacred Hart away in the championship and came away with a comprehensive win. Congratulations : Well done to Joseph O Keefe, the U12 mixed 4 hand dancers were crowned ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONS Fleadh 2017 last week end. Congratulations to Eoin O Brien who represented Waterford in Croke Park on Sunday during half time of the Seniors Match. Well played Eoin, we all hope you enjoyed the experience. |
