The Paddy Whelan u 14 Hurling Tournament took place on Saturday 28th March in Lismore. Taking part this year were Naomh Chartaigh, Cois Bhride, Killeagh and Mount Sion. In very windy conditions Naomh Chartaigh and Killeagh reached the final. Playing with the wind in the first half Killeagh lead by 1-8 to 1-1 at half-time. Naomh Chartaigh fought back bravely in the second half to force the game into extra time. After extra time Naomh Chartaigh emerged victorious on a score of 3-6 to 1-11. The games were played in a great spirit, in what were very testing conditions. It was the second year in a row that Naomh Chartaigh has won the Tournament. The Chairman of the club, Robbie O’Sullivan, paid tribute to all those present for their efforts on the day and he thanked the Whelan Family for their support for the tournament.
